The producers of Gossip Girl have really, truly, officially parted ways with wild child star Taylor Momsen, who won’t return for the teen drama’s fifth season.

Seventeen-year-old Taylor, who plays once-sweet and innocent teen Little J, was (suspended from the show at the end of 2010 — officially for creative reasons; unofficially for her apparent bad behaviour. Project Runway’s Tim Gunn labelled her a “diva” and a “brat” after he guest-starred on Gossip Girl!

It’s kind of ironic that a racy teen drama would ditch a teen actress for racy real-life behaviour?

Anyway, Taylor isn’t the only star to be dropped from Gossip Girl’s permanent line-up: Jessica Szohr, aka Vanessa, has also been let go. However, both actresses have been invited back as “guest stars”, so maybe you haven’t seen the last of their characters.

Blake Lively (Serena), Leighton Meester (Blair), Penn Badgley (Dan), Ed Westwick (Chuck) and Chace Crawford (Nate) are all confirmed to return for season five.

Taylor Momsen has revealed that she has enjoyed her time on Gossip Girl.

The actress has previously suggested that she is “done” with the show and claimed that her return next season is “up in the air”.

However, speaking to Access Hollywood, Momsen played down rumors that she is planning to leave the show and explained that she will miss a few episodes next season because she will be touring with her band The Pretty Reckless.

“The show’s been really great and I’m going to be missing from a little bit of it because I am finishing the Warped Tour,” she said. “I’m on tour this summer and the show starts back up during the middle of the tour.”

Momsen also said that her arc on the series has been “really great”.

“I’ve had such a great time playing Jenny because she is the most transformational character,” she continued. “She’s the one who transforms the most and is constantly kind of reinventing herself from figuring out who she is.

“This season, she kind of hits a peak of insanity and loses her mind a little bit and I think the audience will be very shocked and surprised to see where the story goes.”

Taylor Momsen has said that she would happily let her new single be used in an episode of Gossip Girl.

Earlier this year, a track by Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) was used on the show.

Momsen has now claimed that she would be pleased if her band The Pretty Reckless also made it on to the soundtrack.

“[There are] no plans at the moment that I know of, but if they want to put it in the show I am not going to stop them,” she told On The Red Carpet.

“I mean, it’s not pop, it’s very, very rock to say the least. You know, if they can find a spot for it absolutely, it would be awesome.”

Momsen has previously admitted that her role in Gossip Girl is currently “up in the air”.

Jenny never catches a break. Fans of the ship of Jenny/Nate never get a break either it seems. I was hoping for a kiss. Alas we didn’t recieve one and I’m left not liking Nate more and more. It seems they’re trying to make people dislike Jenny, does anyone else get that feeling?

I’ve added captures from last night’s episode, hope everyone enjoys them.

Looks like Little J is taking more chances to get the boy she wants (and as a Nate/Jenny shipper? I have to say I’m happy about this – even though it won’t go well)

GOSSIP GIRL “Dr. Estrangeloved” Season 3 Episode 19 – When Lily’s (Kelly Rutherford) ex-husband, Dr. William van der Woodsen (Baldwin), shows up unexpectedly in Manhattan, Serena (Blake Lively) finally gets the reunion she has so desperately wanted with her father, but the circumstances turn out to be far from ideal. When Serena and Nate (Chace Crawford) continue to have relationship issues, a scheming Jenny (Taylor Momsen) is more than happy to be a shoulder for Nate to lean on. Meanwhile, Dan (Penn Badgley) finds out that he didn’t get accepted into the Tisch writing program and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) admits she may have been somewhat responsible. Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick and Matthew Settle also star. Darnell Martin directed the episode written by Robert Hull

Oh no, Little J. Looks like trouble is not stopping for Jenny (Taylor Momsen) on Gossip Girl. After the horrible virginity debacle this week, her luck doesn’t look to be improving. Agnes (Willa Holland) of the guerilla fashion show and clothes-burning fame is back, and it won’t surprise us if she has ties with Jenny’s drug-dealing and sexually frustrated ex Damien (Kevin Zegers). That partnership is scary, seriously.

This will come to a head on Eleanor’s (Margaret Colin) very important fashion show, for which she is putting daughter Blair (Leighton Meester) in charge.
